MEET YOUR COACH,
andy Nash
Andy laced up for his first triathlon as part of the University Triathlon Squad at Bangor University, where he also completed his Bachelor of Sport Science. Since then, the sport has taken him around the world: winning the T100 in Gold Coast, Australia, competing in the IRONMAN World Championships in Kona, Hawaii, and multiple podium finishes across the IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 circuit.
Experience
Away from racing, Andy has spent over a decade working as a Physical Training Instructor in the defence forces, both in his first home of the UK and now his new home in Australia. He has been designing, delivering, and coaching high-performance strength and conditioning programmes for athletes at every level. This role has sharpened his coaching instincts and his understanding of what it actually takes to train well around a demanding life. Andy knows first-hand that most athletes aren't training fulltime, they're balancing sport and training with work, family, and everything in between. Every plan he writes is built around this reality.
Philosopy
Individuality
Through Andy’s years of experience he has learned that no two athletes are the same, and there’s no one size fits all to training. He understands to help an athlete reach their potential, he must tailor their training around their strengths, schedule and preferences.
Balance
In life, sport is not everything. It can be a truly enriching part of life, but it’s only one part. Andy knows that training should be integrated around life, not the other way around. He always considers this philosophy when designing plans or advising his athletes.
